Benefits of Membership ....

Information/Training . Each local chapter conducts educational and informational meetings throughout the year. Topics range from work issues through personal improvement. Additionally, the state chapter sponsors several educational conferences where you can interact with the administrators that make the decisions affecting our working lives. The international chapter conducts a yearly conference, which always includes information providers with national reputations.

Publications . Our international chapter newspaper Workforce Professional, state chapter newspaper Cal-Liope and local chapter newsletters provide timely and critical information concerning workforce development, human-interest stories about fellow employees and information about up coming training opportunities.

Financial Support . The international and state chapter provides financial support to members for educational opportunities through various grant programs. Continue your education with assistance from IAWP.

Professional Development Program (PDP) .
A course of self-study that informs about Unemployment Insurance, Employment Services, Labor Market Information and general Workforce Development issues. This program is the cornerstone of the international chapter's educational program.

Legislative awareness. The international chapter works through an educational liaison in Washington , DC to help achieve increased funding and attain supportive workforce development legislation.
